ABDOMINAL REDUCTION
The skin and muscles of the outer wall of the abdomen are stretched during pregnancy, which can cause a weakness down the middle of the abdominal muscles. The tummy tuck operation - or abdominoplasty - removes the loose lax skin and excess fat that affect many women after pregnancy. Very occasionally, men are candidates for a tummy tuck as well. A stubborn pot belly may be best treated with liposuction, but for people who have an apron of skin hanging down - sometimes worsened by scars from Caesarean delivery, hysterectomy or appendicectomy - the only way to remove it is with surgery, which often includes liposuction.
