MASTOPEXY (Breast Uplift)
After pregnancy or weight reduction, the breasts often change. In some women they go back to how they were before, in others the glands shrink but not the skin, which causes sagging. If a woman desires uplift, with no increase in size, then this operation is the one she requires. It is usually done as a day case under general anaesthesia. The aim of surgery is to reposition the nipple, pull up the breast tissue and reduce the amount of skin. The design of the operation is based on a breast reduction, with similar scars - although often without the long scar in the crease below the breast. The complications are the same as for a breast reduction, but because less has been done all the risks are much lower.
